It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sad passing of Dai (Bongo) Thomas at the age of 67. David was the youngest brother of Wynford, Ellis and Mary formally of Mathew Street Glyncorrwg. David played for the Welsh Secondary Schools Rugby Union, the went to university in London and settled there. He played a lot of his rugby career with the London Welsh rugby club where he captained the Druids (2nd XV) he also played for the 1st XV on a number of occasions. Whenever he came home during the rugby season he always turned out for Glyncorrwg and on one occasion he came home we were going on our first overseas tour to Holland and he jumped on the bus with the club and played in the two games there. David had the travel bug and he followed the England Cricket team with the Barmy Army. Our condolences go out to all his family& friends..
