Fixture

We traveled to Bryncethin for our first game since 15th December and it showed how rusty we were for this game. We found ourselves on the wrong end of the referee's whistle for som 25 minutes when we gave away numerous penalties and found ourselves down to 13 men with two yellow cards. The game was well contested throughout but Bryncethin then took the lead through a penalty by their outside half but we soon hit back with one by Nathan Healy. After this the game was end to end but no team could find a way through some tight defences. With the half coming to a close Bryncethin spun the ball along the line and scored a good try by their centre which went unconverted.

The second half was very much like the first half but nobody could find a way through, then it looked as if we had worked a overlap but the Bryncethin wing intercepted and raced away under the post to score a try which they also converted. We then gave a penalty away which their outside half put through the posts to extend their lead.With both teams going at it all through again we shot ourselves in the foot when we dropped a ball some 40 yards out Bryncethin reacted the faster the hacked through and with a chase to the line the referee awarded a try which they converted, but it did not look that conclusive with both players diving for the ball but with the ref some 40 yards back he awarded the try much to the delight of the home crowd. This was not a good display by us but i am sure that Coach Gavin will sort it out in training and we will be a far better team for the visit of Cwmllynfell next weekend.
